Imagine the fun of having your birthday at the carnival! The popcorn, the balloons and the rides! I’ve used an image from A Day for Daisies for this box card and coloured it in with my Copics. I just love bright rainbow colours, so each balloon is a different colour!. I added a little white pen to create the shine on the balloons. I also used some free clipart to create the scene behind the clown.
On the flaps of the box, I put some crinkled up tickets and some tiny popcorn boxs that I created, and then made some tiny popcorn to fall out of them.
If you’re looking for a fun challenge, visit Southern Girls Challenge Blog for our newest challenge – Inks or Sprays. I used black ink on the front of the box to create the inked edge. I also sprayed on some gloss, to help the balloons shine.
Here’s the whole box, it folds flat with the flaps raised to protect the embellishments for travel in an envelope.
The popcorn bags were created by using a free template. Then I punched some white dots. I put the paper dot on a piece of soft foam and ran my embossing stylus over it which helped to turn the edges up. I gently pressed and squished the shape until it looked a little like popcorn. I used my yellow Copic marker to add “butter” to the popcorn. The tickets are free clipart that I printed and then gently roughed up.
